History:

In the year 2013, as before already in 2003 and 1991 (for this occasion the ski jumps were constructed) the Nordic Ski World Championships took place in the Val di Fiemme (Fleims valley). Predazzo with its large and normal hills has been hosting the ski jumping events. The larger jumps of the facility “Trampolino dal Ben” are mainly used for practising and international competitions in summer and winter time, while the smaller plastic covered hill serve the local ski clubs for youth work.
The first ski jumping hills at Val die Fiemme were constructed in 1960’s, a plastic covered 20 meter hill. Additionally, there was a K65 at Passo Rolle. In 1984, the K62 and K35 at Predazzo were set up and the in 1988 the corner stone for the WSC ski jumping hills K90 and K120 was placed. For the WSC in 2003, the ski jumping hills were then modernized as K120 & K95, as well as the general infrastructure of the ski jumping facility.
For the Nordic Ski WSC in 2013 the facility was once again brought to the latest standards. Basically the service building and spectator stands got over-worked, as well as judges tower and the inrun track cooling system. The 60 meter hill, which had been abandoned a dozen years ago, was reconstructed as HS 66 and revived in 2018.
Predazzo shall be a country-wide and international center for summer training in the future. Furthermore, Val di Fiemme with the hills in Predazzo is the host of the Olympic Winter Games 2026 in Milan and Cortina. For this purpose, modernization works on the large and normal hill started in summer 2022. The contracts for the main works of the reconstruction as K128 (HS 143) and K98 (HS 109) were advertised in April 2023. They shall cost around 17 million Euros and be completed by the end of 2024.

Re: New record

Nordic Combined don't count as official "World Cup" hill records. As you can see, Eric Frenzel already jumped 138.5 m during the last WSC, which is the current hill record.

when?

When did they change (before the summer season or later)? And why they changed it, what reason did they note? Thanks again in advance, Artur!
